One August evening, after 20 years working in investment banking with HSBC and Merrill Lynch and in private equity and real estate – always waking up at the crack of dawn, burnt out and with a fed-up wife and kids who hardly knew me – I found myself thinking that there had to be more to life than this.

As I gazed over the breathtaking caldera in Santorini (aka Thera), where my family has its roots, I decided there was. Why not take all I’d learned and set up my own business, on my own terms, working with people I could genuinely help and actually liked? A business in which I could build lasting, meaningful relationships with clients, not just churn out deals and transactions. I wanted to make a real difference to people’s lives and see the joy I could bring through taking proper care of the wealth they’d worked so hard to create.
